No injuries took place after a fire at JJ & Son's was reported at 7:34 p.m. on Sunday night by a passerby.

According to Joyce Cogdill, rescue captain with Dunlap Fire and Rescue, someone said there was thick, black smoke coming from the building.

The fire was under control at 9:32 p.m., then ventilation and checking for hot spots was done inside of the structure.

“No injuries, no arson suspected,” she said.

Cogdill also noted that the cause of the fire is under investigation, and that the fire marshal will be on-site to check things out on Tuesday.

“It was most likely electrical,” she stated.

There were no fuel spills that contributed to the fire. Dunlap Fire and Rescue was first to the site, with Woodbine Fire and Rescue, the Dunlap Police Department and Harrison County Sheriff's Office all assisting.

Editor's note: This story was written early Tuesday morning to meet the Reporter's deadline. The fire marshal visited JJ & Son's later on Tuesday to investigate the cause of the fire.
