City of Dunlap Meeting Minutes May 11, 2022 Mayor Knickman called the regular council meeting to order on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers, City Hall pursuant to law with the following council members present: Gunia, Schauer, Skarin; Absent: Kuhlman, Casperson. Motion by Schauer second by Gunia to approve the agenda. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Gunia second by Skarin to approve minutes from April 13 regular meeting and April 13 public hearings. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Skarin second by Gunia to approve payment of bills. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Skarin second by Gunia to approve Building permit for Shayla Ritterbush, and Reed Block; Liquor License for Smitty’s. All in favor, motion carried. Meredith Van Houten, City Clerk showed the Council Jill Schaben, DCDC Directors, wayfinding signs. Paula Evans, librarian, gave a library report. Motion by Gunia second by Schauer to close Jeroleman Street from 8th to 9th Streets on July 3rd from 3pm-8pm. Ayes: Gunia, Schauer; Nays: Skarin, motion carries. Motion by Gunia second by Shauer to accept Courtland Smith’s bid on the old playground equipment for $700. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Schauer second by Gunia to accept Brad Malone’s bid cleaning the drainage ditch for $1500. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Gunia second by Skarin Resolution 2022-08 set public hearing regarding the conveyance of real property on June 8th at 6:45pm. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Schauer second by Gunia to approve resolution 2022-09 creating a one way street on South 1st Street from Eaton Street to the alley north of Iowa Avenue. Ayes: Gunia, Schauer; Nays: Skarin, motion carries. Motion by Gunia second by Schauer to approve Street Sweeper financing with Community Bank. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Gunia second by Schauer to put a bid in for Woodbine’s automatic pool heater. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Schauer second by Casperson to approve Resolution 2022-07 Authorizing USDA application. All in favor, motion carried. Council reviewed some changes on the City of Dunlap Code book. Motion by Gunia second by Schauer to adjourn at 8:26pm. All in favor, motion carried. These minutes will be approved at the next regular council meeting.
