Sally J. Krajicek, 91

Sarah “Sally” Jane Krajicek, 91, died on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, at her home in Dunlap. She was born March 19, 1931, near Dunlap, to parents Moses and Edna Florence (Mefferd) Miles. She attended Woodland country school for eight years and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1949. Sally went to work for Mutual of Omaha. On Oct. 16, 1950, Sally married Leonard Krajicek at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dunlap with Father Ford officiating. The couple farmed in the Dunlap area. They farmed Sally’s family farm and later purchased that farm. In 1991, the couple moved into Dunlap. While on the farm Sally helped with the farming, after moving into town Sally worked at the Dunlap Livestock Auction, helped out at the Dunlap Library, worked with her daughter at Ruby’s Roses in Woodbine and then drove a bus for Southwest Iowa Transit Association.

Sally was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, had been a lector, Eucharist Minister, on the Parish Council and Care Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling with her children and grandchildren, camping and cooking. Most of all she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and helping others. Her dedication to God, her family, friends, and community was never wavering.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Krajicek; daughter, Susan Schneider; two sisters, Martha Miles and Mary King; and one grandson, Trevor Krajicek.  She is survived by her eight children, Ed Krajicek of Denison, Jan and Don Roberts of Dunlap, Mike and Sam Krajicek of Denison, Mary Lou Kline of Oklahoma City, Okla., Roberta and Kenny Mumm of Dunlap, Betty and Dan Soller of Crosslake, Minn., John and Brandi Krajicek of Denison and Rich and Sandy Krajicek of Dunlap; daughter-in-law, Lottie Krajicek of Dunlap; son-in-law, Chuck Schneider of Omaha, Neb.; 23 grandchildren; 34+ great- grandchildren; two brothers, Cliff and Nancy Miles of Denison and Walt and Barbie Miles of McGregor; and many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dunlap. Reverend Joel McNeil presided over the service. Barb Amsberry and the St. Patrick Church Choir provided the music. The honorary pallbearers were Colin Krajicek, Connor Krajicek, Christopher Krajicek, Joe Nissen, Ryan Mumm, Kaden Krajicek and Matt Krajicek. The pallbearers were Jason Krajicek, Dan Roberts, Michael Krajicek, Jr., Jim Crandall, Justin Mumm, Kolton Krajicek and Jeremy Krajicek. Sally’s final resting place is at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
