A Pisgah woman was recently arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail on alleged assault charges stemming from an incident that took place in Grand Junction in November of last year.
Elaine Norgart, 57, faces charges of willful injury causing bodily injury, a Class D felony, and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor. A no contact order was also filed in December for the alleged victims and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 26 in Greene County.
According to court documents reported on by Raccoon Valley Radio, the alleged incident took place on Nov. 26.
“The victims told investigators that (Norgart) wanted her vehicle back that the victims were using,” an article from Raccoon Valley Radio states. “The affidavit states that as the victims were removing personal items from the vehicle, Norgart got into the driver seat and put the vehicle in reverse and knocked over one of the victims and the other victim punched the rear window as a reactionary movement.”
From there, the article states, Norgart allegedly accelerated the vehicle forward at the victims, who got out of the way, before driving off. Investigators reviewed nearby security camera footage to corroborate the alleged victims' claims and found visible injuries to their bodies.
“Investigators tried calling Norgart on Dec. 9, but there was no answer,” the article states. An arrest warrant was also issued on Dec. 16, with the aforementioned charges being pressed against Norgart. An additional charge of a simple misdemeanor for violation of a no contact order was also given. Norgart was the party who originally requested the no contact order, but she allegedly violated the order by the actions stated above.
The arrest warrant was then served on Feb. 5, with Norgart being booked into Greene County Jail.
