Patty A. Lyman, 54

Patty Ann (Purdy) Lyman, daughter of Howard Purdy Jr. and Kathleen (Wollesen) Hunt was born on Oct. 19, 1967, in Saugus, Calif. She was baptized at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Wall Lake. Patty graduated from Denison High School with the Class of 1986.
After graduation, she was a bartender at Tripps in Denison and Last Draw in Jefferson. She also worked at Ampride as the Lead Cook for many years. On Oct. 15, 2010, Patty was united in marriage to Byron Lyman in Las Vegas, Nev. Together, they shared a family of two children: Dustin and Dakota.
Patty loved cooking, the outdoors, and camping. Her flower and vegetable gardens always kept her busy. Holidays were special to Patty, especially Christmas. She was very artistic and enjoyed crafting, shopping, and riding her Harley. Patty was full of life who cherished every minute with her family, friends, and her dogs Harley Girl, Tinker, and Lucky. The bond she shared with her children and grandchildren is irreplaceable. Patty's greatest joy was being surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Patty passed away with her family by her side after a seven year long battle with leukemia on Sept. 26, 2022, at her home in Dow City, attaining the age of 54 years, 11 months, and seven days. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Purdy Jr.; step-father, Roger Hunt; and brother, Steve Purdy.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Byron Lyman of Dow City; son, Dustin Palmer and his wife Shelbie Palmer of Nevada; daughter, Dakota Conner and her significant other Nick Endrulat of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Haylow, Jax, Rowdy, and Rebel; mother, Kathleen Hunt of Denison; siblings, Brenda (Kevin) Grimes of Columbia, S.C., Jim (Cindy) Purdy of Independence, Mo. and Carrie Hunt of Denison; other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life was held Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Rev. Mike Fillmore officiated the service with inurnment in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Recorded musical selections included "Shallow" by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw.  Serving as honorary pallbearers were Dan Bressman, Bill Fisher, Glen McCoy, Kyle Sanders, Brandon Monahan and Josh Thomsen. Following the burial, the family invited everyone to the United Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall for a time of fellowship and lunch. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements.
