John P. Hanson

John Patrick Hanson was born on St. Patrick's Day 1955, to Paul and Mary Hanson in Pinedale, Wyo., where he grew up with his six siblings. He attended Pinedale High School and then continued his college education in Rock Springs, Wyo. He started his career in the gas fields in Big Piney where he continued his career for 36 years before his retirement in 2013. He made the most out of retirement by traveling wherever his wife told him they were going.

He had two beautiful daughters, Sara and Haley whom he loved dearly. They had 18 years of wild John Hanson adventures together. He took his job as a Dad very seriously and he was made for it. He met the love of his life Jeanette in 1996, and they married March 31, 2002. This is where he finally got his two sons, Kevin and Daniel. It was their turn for John Hanson adventures. John was lucky enough to retire and spend time in Belize doing all the things he loved. John and Jeanette bought his parents’ house in Dunlap, where he spent his last years renovating the estate and enjoying the garden and golfing with friends.

John passed at the University of Nebraska Hospital where he was surround with love and comfort of his family. In honor of John and his favorite things, please drive slow, go fishing, drink a beer and take your family mushroom hunting. 

Proceeded in death by his parents and brother in-law, Warren McHugh. Survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughters, Sara Garland (Ericka), Haley (Chris) Brown; sons, Kevin (Lisa) Yenser, Daniel (Mandi) Yenser. He is also survived by his six siblings, Carol (Tom) Stephens, Kathy (late Warren)McHugh, Donald (Sue) Hanson, Ronald (Laurie) Hanson, Kerry (Lee) Bryant, Kaidi Hanson-Raney; sister in-law, Pat (Tim) Fischer; grandchildren, Colter, Carsen, Claire (Sara), Ava, Ellis, Briar (Haley), Marley (Kevin), Elisa, McKayla (Daniel); numerous nieces and nephews, and many many friends. He will be deeply missed by all who were lucky to know him.
