High school interns needed

Posted

Missouri Valley Times News and Dunlap Reporter is currently seeking reliable high school juniors and seniors with interest in the news media field that would like to try their hand at working for a local newspaper. This internship is not paid; however, volunteer hours will be awarded and after the completion of the school year the option to become a paid member of the team is a possibility.

This opportunity is open to all the schools in the county and to home schooled individuals alike.  It would be ideal to have at least one intern for each town in the county that would be available.

Duties of these internships include, but are not limited to, attending school board meetings and other special meetings involving the school, attending school events and extra cuticular activities, and interviewing individuals.  In addition to attending these events articles on and possibly photos of these events would need to be submitted to the news office. We understand that students are busy so those that qualify for the internship would be able to communicate what availability they have and create their own schedule.

If you are interested in this position, please contact the news office.
