Harrison County Supervisors Meeting November 7, 2024 Chairman Tony Smith called the meeting to order with member Brian Rife in attendance. Member Straight was absent. The tentative agenda was approved on a motion by Rife, second by Smith. Motion carried. Previous minutes were approved on a motion by Rife, second by Smith. Motion carried. Attendance: Auditor Susan Bonham, Jack Jones, Rebecca Wilkerson, Michele Stirtz, Paul Rhoten, Sarah Delanty, Megan Reffett HVAC Software Upgrade Control Services presented a quote to the board for the upgrade of the Courthouse HVAC system. The current system was installed in 2004, and parts are no longer available for fixing or upgrading. The new system will allow for updates and the system can be accessed by Control Services to allow them to troubleshoot issues before sending out a technician. The presented proposal was approved on a motion by Rife, seconded by Smith. Motion carried. Motor Vehicle and Property Tax Bank Reconciliation County Treasurer Phillips presented the bank statements from the Motor Vehicle and Property Tax accounts for July, September, and October. Approve Property Tax Suspension The board approved suspending the taxes on the presented property on a motion by Rife, seconded by Smith. Motion carried. Engineer – Department and Project Updates Engineer Struble gave updates on current projects and office activities. The department is working with the Hungry Canyons Association regarding funding for the bridge replacement project on Reno Ave. The department will be attending OSHA protections and Work Zone and Flagger training over the next few weeks. They are still hiring for the two open truck drivers positions and have received applications and plan to interview and hire next week. Comments Auditor Bonham gave election updates. Michele Stirtz and Rebecca Wilkerson also comment on the election. With business of the day completed, the Board adjourned on a motion by Rife, second by Smith. Motion carried.
