Harrison County Supervisors Meeting November 13, 2024 Chairman Tony Smith called the meeting to order with members Brian Rife and John Straight in attendance. The tentative agenda was approved on a motion by Straight, second by Rife. Motion carried. Previous minutes were approved on a motion by Straight, second by Rife. Motion carried. Attendance: Rebecca Wilkerson, Michele Stirtz, Paul Rhoten, Sarah Delanty, Deputy Auditor Megan Reffett, Pat Oehler, Tom Oehler, Matt Fouts Pat Oehler – Acre Discrepancy Matt Fouts presented a survey that was done on the property at 2914 Ridge Rd. The original plat which showed a survey that was done on the property in the 1970’s and the survey that he recently completed were presented. Fouts commented that the property is very hilly and mostly timber that would have made it difficult to survey with older methods. With new his newer GPS system he was able to accurately survey the property and had to move several of the property lines. This caused a decrease in the acres that were included in this parcel compared to the acres that had been being taxed. The board explained that this was a common issue due to how surveys used to be completed and that with newer methods more of these errors were being discovered. The survey had been filed and the appropriate changes would be made in the Auditor’s files for the new owners. Approve Handwritten Warrant A handwritten warrant to US Bank in the amount of $4,917.97 was approved on a motion by Rife, second by Straight. Motion carried Canvass Election Results Deputy Auditor Megan Reffett presented the election results for the Board to canvass Post Election Audit Deputy Auditor Megan Reffett updated the Board about the post-election audit. The Modale precinct was selected, and the President/Vice President and the Sheriff’s races were counted. All counts matched with the election night results. Engineer Engineer Struble gave department and project updates. He also requested the Board to approve an application for Mid-American Energy for a permit to install underground utility line underneath 335th street. Motion by Straight, second by Rife. Motion carried. With business of the day completed, the Board adjourned on a motion by Rife, second by Straight.
