Harrison County is working to develop its next comprehensive plan and is asking for participation from residents. An online survey and two public meetings have been set up to begin molding a new plan to shape future development within the county. The plan primarily deals with land use planning and sets the basis for zoning. County officials encourage all citizens to participate in this process.
The two upcoming meetings, to be held on Feb. 5 and Feb. 19 will cover the same topics to better accommodate schedules. These meetings will look at strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for Harrison County as well as discussing potential goals.
The first meeting on Feb. 5, 2025, will be held at the Logan Community Center (108 W 3rd Street, Logan) from 6:30 – 8 p.m. The second meeting on Feb. 19, 2025, will be held at the Willow Lake Nature Center (2725 Easton Trail, Woodbine) from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
The online survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and is currently available at https://tinyurl.com/Harrison2045. Resident’s opinions are highly valued and there are no correct or incorrect answers.
Again, the county encourages your participation in the comp plan development process. Please fill out the survey and make plans to attend the public meetings on Feb. 5 or Feb. 19.
