City of Dunlap Meeting Minutes June 21, 2021 Mayor Knickman called the regular council meeting to order on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers, City Hall pursuant to law with the following council members present: Hopkins, Gunia, Casperson, Schauer, Kuhlman. Motion by Schauer second by Hopkins to approve the agenda. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Kuhlman second by Casperson to approve minutes from May 11th regular meeting. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Hopkins second by Kuhlman to approve payment of bills with the exception of one pending engineering approval. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Hopkins second by Schauer to approve consent agenda items: Building permit for Bob Donscheski, Joseph Burroughs, Greg Brasel, Diane Ingertson-Marek; Liquor License for Dollar General; Tobacco Permit for Town & County, Dollar General and Smitty’s. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Hopkins second by Schauer to approve building permit for Tony Casperson. Ayes: Schauer, Gunia, Hopkins, Kuhlman; Abstain: Casperson. Motion passed. Joyce Cogdill let the Council know that the new to them truck came in. Paula Evans gave a report on the library. Meredith Van Houten let the Council know that some businesses are looking at doing a Farmer’s Market on Main Street, more info to come. Motion by Kuhlman second by Casperson to hire Logan Lieber as a part-time officer. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Schauer second by Hopkins to increase the Part-time officer pay to $250 per day. All in favor, motion carried. It was discussed who would be on the interview committee for hiring of an officer this time. It was decided that Robert Steele, Tony Casperson, Damon Hopkins and Jason Knickman would be on the committee. Mike Bonsall came to ask the Council to change the name of his lane to Airport Lane. Motion by Schauer second by Hopkins to set Steve Miller’s wage at $25 per hour. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Hopkins second by Kuhlman to give all employees at 6.25% raise on July 1st. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Hopkins second by Kuhlman to close 9th Street from Eaton to the alley before Eagle from 4-10pm on July 31st. Ayes: Casperson, Kuhlman, Schauer, Hopkins. Abstain: Gunia. Motion carried. Motion by Gunia second by Schauer to approve Ten Point Constructions bid. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Hopkins second by Schauer to move forward with purchasing of a street sweeper. All in favor, motion carried. Motion by Gunia second by Casperson to adjourn at 9:10pm. All in favor, motion carried. These minutes will be approved at the next regular council meeting.
