BOYER VALLEY COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF DIRECTORS – SPECIAL MEETING – MARCH 9, 2022 6:45 P.M. - BOARD ROOM, BOYER VALLEY SOUTH CALL TO ORDER: Vice President Elizabeth Heistand called a special meeting of the Boyer Valley Board of Education to order at 6:57 p.m. Members answering roll call were Paul Cogdill, Ben Hansen, Elizabeth Heistand and Craig Malone. Directors Miller, Puck and Ueding were absent. Also present was Secretary Terra Sell and Paul Tedesco, EDWise Consultant. Vice President Heistand declared quorum present. Secretary Sell read the mission statement. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Motion by Hansen, second by Cogdill to approve the agenda as published. Motion carried 4-0. WORK SESSION: Paul Tedesco with EDWise LLC spoke with the board regarding the upcoming interviews of Superintendent candidates. He reviewed the do’s and don’ts of the interview process, procedures to follow and how to complete the rating forms. A list of interview questions were established. Mr. Tedesco also went over the tentative schedule timeline. EXEMPT SESSION: Motion by Hansen, second by Cogdill to enter into an exempt session pursuant to Iowa Code 8.3(4) to allow a governmental body to formulate its position on the terms and conditions of employment for non-union employees in private at 7:39 p.m. Ayes: Hansen, Cogdill, Heistand, Malone President Puck arrived at 8:14 p.m. and assumed the chair. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION: At 9:31 p.m. a motion by Hansen, second by Cogdill to return to open session. Ayes: Hansen, Cogdill, Heistand, Malone and Puck A motion by Malone, second by Hansen to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. With no further business appearing before the board, President Puck declared the meeting adjourned at 9:33 p.m. These minutes are as recorded by the board secretary and subject to approval at the next regular board meeting.
